Dadvice Weekly #52 / Year One of Dadvice
Dadvice Weekly - #52
One Year of Dadvice
One year ago, we decided to start writing.
At the time, it sounded like a fun idea. Send one newsletter every week. Share something we’ve been thinking about. Recommend a few things we genuinely like. See where it goes.
What we didn’t know was what the next year of life would look like.
Some weeks were busy. Some weeks were exhausting. There were work deadlines, family trips, sick kids, home projects, golf rounds, late nights, and everything else that comes with life in your thirties.
The funny thing about committing to something every week is that you don’t get to decide whether life slows down first.
Looking back, we’re really glad we started anyway.
One of the unexpected gifts of Dadvice has been having a reason to slow down and put our thoughts into words. Sometimes that’s been about investing. Sometimes it’s been a product we genuinely think is worth buying. Other times it’s been a movie, a book, parenting, or simply an observation from everyday life.
Writing has a funny way of helping you think more clearly. We’ve enjoyed that process far more than we ever expected.
But the best part hasn’t been writing. It’s been hearing from all of you.
Whether you’ve replied to a post, commented on Substack, sent us a text recommending something we should try, or told us you shared an article with a friend, every interaction has reminded us that these aren’t just newsletters disappearing into the internet. They’re conversations.
So thank you.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for subscribing. Thank you for sharing your own recommendations and stories along the way.
Before we kick off Year Two, we thought it would be fun to look back at some of our favorite posts and the newsletters that resonated most with all of you.

Dadvice Weekly is Kyle and Skyler—two friends in their thirties, living in Colorado, settling into fatherhood and trying to stay sane. Every Tuesday we share what’s working in our homes: gear we use, routines we’ve tested, ideas we’re trying. It could be a recipe, a product that solved a problem, or just what we’re thinking about as dads.
If you have a tip, tried something we mentioned, or just want to say hi, reply to this email or message us on Substack. We read everything, and we’re always looking for what works. Glad you’re here.
